In many rural communities, menstruation is still surrounded by silence and unsafe practices. Shikoh Zaidi chose to start conversations that challenged these long-held taboos.

After learning about reproductive health in school, she began educating women in her village about menstruation and... safer hygiene practices, turning knowledge into awareness and awareness into change.

Her efforts not only started important conversations within her community, but also earned recognition from the United Nations for helping break menstrual taboos in rural India.
